UPDATE: This event raised over $1,200 dollars for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure of Northwest Louisiana Cancer research and treatment!

Shreveport, La. – The LSU Shreveport Pilots, ranked 7th in the latest NAIA Coaches Top 25 Poll, are teaming up with Southern Baseball Association for the Inaugural Pink Out The Park Day on April 12, 2014.  The event raises awareness of breast cancer and helps raise funds for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure of Northwest Louisiana.  The Pilots will welcome the Rams of Huston-Tillotson University for the conference weekend series.  First pitch of the doubleheader is set for 1:00 p.m.

As part of the partnership with Southern Baseball Association, the Pilots will be wearing pink jerseys, shoelaces, wristbands, etc., provided by President of SBA, Jimmy Gould, and former Pilots player and assistant coach, Brandon Magierowski.  Leading the charge of Operations and Player Development of the Southern Baseball Association, Magierowski received his Business Administration undergraduate degree from LSU Shreveport and recently received his MBA from LSU Shreveport as well.  There will be numerous opportunities for fans to support the cause throughout the day.

Also set for April 12, 2014, is Senior Day for the Pilots.  Seven seniors will be recognized and be given thanks for their contributions to LSU Shreveport and the Pilots Family.  Fortunately for these seniors, they will not be playing their final baseball games on Pilots Field.  LSU Shreveport is set once again to host the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament on May 2 – 5.  We look forward to having a tremendous crowd at Pilots Field the weekend of April 11-12.
