SHREVEPORT, La. – The Pilots baseball team have been and still are volunteering their time twice a week delivering meals to seniors in the Shreveport/Bossier area with Meals on Wheels. The Pilots currently have 380 hours of community service so far this year and will complete their goal of 500 hours when they return after Thanksgiving ringing bells for the Salvation Army.

Meals On Wheels is a service designed to help seniors maintain their independence as they face financial, physical, or emotional hardships. A hot meal designed to meet one-third of the daily requirements for senior nutrition is delivered to the homes of seniors who, due to frail health, are unable to shop and/or cook for themselves. In addition to the nutritional benefit, this program provides a yearly wellness check for seniors.
