LANGSON, Okla. – The LSU Shreveport Pilots women's basketball team is finding their niche as they picked up their 4th consecutive win on Saturday afternoon with a big win in Red River Athletic Conference action 77-65 over the Langston Lionesses. LSUS improves to 5-6 overall and 2-0 in RRAC action while Langston falls to 4-3 and 1-1 in league play.
The Pilots trailed 40-26 at the break after shooting a slim 26-percent shooting in the opening half but Coach Loyd and his squad turned it around in the second half as they blazed the nets making 50-percent in the 3rd and 4th quarters combined outscoring the home team 51-25 to come from behind for the win against a tough team on the road.
Quiana Tucker (SR/Stone Mountain, Georgia) controlled the boards nearly by herself as she grabbed 22 of the Pilots' 47 total rebounds and added 18 points while Kourtney Pennywell (SR/Shreveport, Louisiana) scored a dozen points and pulled down 10 boards and were the only two to record a double-double.
Courtney Randle (SR/Lamarque, Texas) led the Pilots with 20 points while Johnesha Major (SR/DeSoto, Texas) added 13 points after an 11-of-12 performance from the free-throw line and also led the team with five assists.
