SHREVEPORT, La. - The LSU Shreveport Pilots will have to win two games on Sunday and one more on Monday if they want to claim the RRAC Tournament title after the Jarvis Christian Bulldogs picked up the 12-9 win on Saturday afternoon at Pilot Field. The Pilots slip to 35-19 while Jarvis stays hot and improves to 32-24.

Cade Gibson (FR/Ruston, Louisiana) did his part at the plate for the Pilots going 4-for-5 and drove in four runs as he collected three doubles along the way, all of which drove in at least one run. He drove in two with his two-bagger in the 6th inning that brought the Pilots to within 12-5.

Kevin Rosario (SR/Hollywood, Florida) (2-for-4) and Kevin VanAsselberg (JR/Alexandria, Louisiana) (2-for-3) were the only two other Pilots to have at least two hits.

The Pilots were stymied by the Jarvis starter Alejandro Guerrero just about his whole outing as he constantly kept the Pilots off balance with his slow knuckleball.

Guerrero had to exit in the bottom of the 6th with an injury but the hill was too steep to climb as Jarvis led 12-3. LSUS scored three runs that inning and then got three more in the 9th but the Bulldogs second baseman Koby Greene made an incredible diving catch down the line for the final out to hold off the Pilots.

LSUS left a lot to be desired as they stranded nine runners including the bases loaded in the 6th inning.

The Jarvis hitters continued their hot streak as they pounded out 18 hits today and kept the pressure on the home squad all day.

The Pilots slip to the loser's bracket and will have a rematch with the no. 2 seed, the Texas A&M-Texarkana Eagles, the team they sent to the loser's bracket with a 4-3 win in the first round.
