TEXARKANA, Tex. – The LSU Shreveport Pilots men's soccer team recorded another shutout, their second in as many games, as they crushed the Williams Baptist Eagles 6-0 at the soccer field on the campus of Texas A&M University-Texarkana. The game was moved to the neutral site for the threat of Tropical Storm Harvey.

The Pilots improve to 2-0 on the season while Williams Baptist drops their first game of the season. LSUS has outscored their opponents 12-0 in the first two games of the season.

"Our guys were impressive going forward at times. They scored some truly entertaining goals as a team but we still have a lot to work on moving forward as evidenced by a 20 minute lull in the second half but we are young and just scratching the surface. Danny had a fantastic day scoring and dishing our assists. He was a handful and really added bite to our attack."

Daniel Meza (JR/Fontana, California) stole the show for the Pilots having an incredible game with two goals and three assists as he took a total of three shots.

David Martinez (SR/Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela) took the most shots with four while putting three on-goal with one goal scored.

Murray Cockburn (JR/Edinburgh, Scotland) made his presence felt as well with one of his two shots on goal finding the back of the net.

Alvaro Torres (JR/Cali, Colombia) made some crisp passes in the contest and was credited with an assists and had one shot on goal.

Robbie Bruce (FR/Cullen, Scotland) came in off the bench and helped the Pilots kill the lull, that Coach Bohn referred to earlier, getting the game high of two assists and he also had two shots in the game.

Niall Cheshire (FR/Eastbourne, England) also provided the Pilots a boost off the bench as he scored two goals on the only two shots that he took.

Yoran Van Houdt (FR/Mol, Belguim) recorded his second shutout of the season saving four shots during his 90 minutes.

• The Pilots scored their first goal of the match on the tail end of the 19th minute when Torres found Martinez who put it in the back of the net.

• Meza scored an unassisted goal during the 32nd minute as he picked up a loose ball and dumped a shot over the head of the WB keeper to make it 2-0 which is where the score stood at the half.

• The first five minutes of the 2nd half put the game away for the Pilots as they netted four quick goals to take the commanding lead. Cheshire scored his first goal of the game during the 76th minute off a Meza pass to make it 3-0.

• The 78th minute saw a goal from Cockburn as midfielders Meza and Bruce worked the ball around the WB defense for the assists.

• Meza scored his second goal of the contest with an assist from Bruce during the 79th minute.

• The final goal of the day came at the 80th minute as Cheshire scored on an assist from Meza as he shot from the left side while the ball settled in the bottom right corner of the goal.

• The Pilots outshot the Eagles 15-9. Both teams tallied four saves in the game while the Pilots edged the Eagles in corner kicks 5-4.
