Men's Soccer - Mon, Sep. 4, 2017

WACO, Texas – Daniel Meza (JR/Fontana, California) of LSU Shreveport (La.) captured the RRAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honor, while the Pilots' Yoran Van Houdt (FR/Mol, Belguim) earned the RRAC Defensive Player of the Week award for Aug. 28-Sept. 3. This is the second set of conference awards for the 2017 men's soccer season.

Meza provided seven points in the Pilots' 6-0 victory over Williams Baptist College (Ark.) on Tuesday. The junior midfielder from Fontana, Calif., notched a pair of goals and three assists. Meza tied the old school record for goals in a game (2) which stood until Murray Cockburn (JR/Edinburgh, Scotland) scored three to start the 2017 season. Meza set a new school record for assists. LSUS improved to 2-0 on the season.

Van Houdt was recognized for the second straight week with a shutout. The freshman goalkeeper from Mol, Belgium, made four saves in 90 minutes to stretch the Pilots' advantage to 12-0 in goals this season. The program had been dormant since 2012.
