LSU Shreveport Men’s Soccer Adds Ricardo Navia to Coaching Staff

SHREVEPORT, La. -- LSU Shreveport Athletics is proud to announce the hiring of Ricardo Navia as an assistant coach for the men's soccer program.

Navia joins the Pilots after a successful two-year stint as an assistant coach at Oklahoma Wesleyan University from 2023–25. During his time with the Eagles, Navia was part of the United Soccer Coaches 2025 NAIA Men's Soccer Staff of the Year, helping guide OKWU to both the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Regular Season and Tournament Championships (2025).

Oklahoma Wesleyan capped the 2025 campaign with a 19-1-3 overall record and earned KCAC Team of Character honors, recognizing excellence on and off the field.

"His background in a competitive NAIA program gives him a strong understanding of the player demographic, recruiting landscape, and performance standards needed to win," said head coach Adam Kay.

In addition to his collegiate experience, Navia spent the summer of 2025 as an assistant coach with Duluth FC in Duluth, Minnesota, gaining valuable experience at the semi-professional level.

A native of Guayaquil, Ecuador, Navia brings an international perspective to the Pilots' program. He earned his Bachelor of Business Management from Lyon College in 2021 and completed his Master of Business Administration at Oklahoma Wesleyan University in 2025.

Navia will assist with player development, recruiting, and match preparation as LSU Shreveport continues to build momentum within its men's soccer program.
