Pilots Dominate Steers, 67-34

SHREVEPORT, La. — The Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS) women's basketball team delivered a commanding performance on Thursday evening, defeating Texas College 67-34 in a Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) matchup at The Dock.

The Pilots showcased a balanced offensive attack, with Alyssa Chandler leading the way with 11 points. Close behind were Tiarra Tillotson, Selma Markisic, and Fatima Katembo, who each contributed nine points. On the defensive end, Vicky Parra was a force, securing 10 rebounds and swatting away two shots. Helena Galunic orchestrated the offense with five assists, while Paula Gonzalez Herrero demonstrated her defensive prowess with four steals.

As a team, LSUS shot 39.7 percent from the field and converted 77.3 percent of their free throws, though they struggled from beyond the arc, hitting just 21.1 percent of their attempts.

Texas College was led by Keaundra Kelly, who scored 16 points and grabbed four rebounds. Cree McClemore added 10 points and a game-high six steals. However, the Steers were held to 25.0 percent shooting from the field, 60 percent from the stripe, and 26.3 percent from three-point range, struggling to find a rhythm against the Pilots' stifling defense.

With the win, the Pilots improve to 4-2 overall and remain unbeaten in conference play at 3-0. LSUS will look to continue their winning streak when they return to The Dock on Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 5:30 p.m. to face Louisiana Christian University.
