LSUS Women’s Basketball Duo Earns 2025 NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athlete Honors
SHREVEPORT, La. – Two standout members of the LSUS women's basketball team, Taylor Jackson and Tiarra Tillison, have been recognized as 2025 NAIA Winter Sport Daktronics Scholar-Athletes. This prestigious honor is awarded to student-athletes who excel in the classroom while maintaining their athletic commitments.
To qualify for the NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athlete recognition, student-athletes must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, appear on the eligibility certificate for their sport, and have attended their institution for at least one full year.
Jackson, a Business major from Hammond, La., has demonstrated exceptional dedication in her academic pursuits while balancing her responsibilities as a student-athlete. Her focus and drive in academics serve as an inspiration to her peers.
Tillison, an Occupational Physiology major from Slidell, La., has also proven to be a model student-athlete, excelling in her coursework while remaining committed to her team. Her ability to manage the demands of collegiate basketball alongside her studies highlights her strong work ethic.
The recognition of Jackson and Tillison as Daktronics Scholar-Athletes is a testament to LSUS's commitment to fostering a culture of academic excellence. Their achievements reflect the university's dedication to developing well-rounded individuals who strive for success beyond the court.
The Pilots will be back in action in the opening round of the RRAC Women's Basketball Tournament on February 28 at 3 p.m. against Paul Quinn College.
