Major, Vath, and Prayer Take Top Honors Among RRAC Conference Awards

Shreveport, Louisiana--- The Red River Athletic Conference announced Friday morning the selections for the Baseball All-Conference teams and the Pilots knocked it out of the park.

LSUS took the regular season title with a 27-3 record giving them back to back regular season championships, and that success translated to several All-Conference selections. The Pilots had eight players selected to the First Team, seven players named to the Second Team, as well as three Golden Gloves. LSUS also snagged three of the yearly awards. This marks the third year in a row that LSUS put 15 or more players on the RRAC All-Conference teams as well as back to back winners of Player of the Year, Pitcher of the Year, and Newcomer of the Year.

The Pilots' Ryan Major was heavily recognized by the conference as he was named the RRAC Player of the Year, First Team All-Conference as an outfielder, and as the Golden Glove Outfielder for the second year in a row. Major ended his regular season with a .497 batting average, tallying 85 hits, 57 runs, 22 doubles, 8 triples, and 43 stolen bases which all led the conference.

Bobby Vath did what he does best this season and took the conference title of Pitcher of the Year while also being named to the First Team as a starting pitcher. Vath holds a season record of 11-1 and leads the Pilots in strikeouts with 71 and is third in the conference for the category. He is tied for first in conference for wins with 11 and has an ERA of 2.45 while walking only 11 batters.

Cameron Prayer had a stellar first year for the Pilots and was named as the RRAC Newcomer of the Year, joining both Vath and Major among those on the All-Conference First Team.
