Rohde and Reed Receive All-American Honors

Kansas City, Missouri -- With the conclusion of the NAIA World Series, the NAIA compiled their list of All Americans. The NAIA released the First, Second, and Third Teams Wednesday morning and the Pilots found representation on both the First and Third team.

Isaac Rohde, Jr. from Rice Lake, Wis., was selected as a First Team All-American as a Starting Pitcher. Rohde had the lowest Earned Run Average across 101.2 innings in the country at 1.68, which is 4th best all-time for a Pilot pitcher. For much of the season Rohde also led the country in strike outs but ended the year in 4th with 129 which is good for 3rd all-time in the Pilots single season record book. He was able to accumulate a 10-3 record in 18 appearances, 17 of which were starts. Of his 17 starts, he went for a complete game shutout in two of them. He was named to the RRAC First Team as well as received the title of RRAC Pitcher of the Year. Rohde is also the first Pilot pitcher to be named as a First Team All American since Jared Mortensen received the honor in 2012.

Vantrel Reed, Jr. from Vicksburg, Miss., was selected as a Third Team All-American for the Pilots. He had a batting average of .387 on the year and led the Pilots in at-bats (199), total bases (127), runs (53), hits (77), doubles (16), triples (5), and RBIs (60). Reed had 29 extra base hits to go along with 22 stolen bases. Reed was names to the RRAC First Team for a second straight year, this time also earning the title of RRAC Player of the Year.

Coach Brad Neffendorf had this to say, "An outstanding accomplishment and recognition for both of these incredibly talented individuals and our program. They have and will continue to be extremely important pieces for us going forward. I am extremely proud of both Isaac and Vantrel!"
