LSU Shreveport Pilots Duo Earns RRAC Weekly Honors Following Series Sweep

SHREVEPORT, La. -- LSU Shreveport baseball standouts Carlos Sanchez and Brock Lucas have been recognized by the Red River Athletic Conference as the RRAC Player of the Week and RRAC Pitcher of the Week, respectively, following the Pilots' three-game sweep of the Arizona Christian Firestorm.

Sanchez turned in a dominant three-game performance, powering one of the most explosive offensive weekends of the season. Over the series, he batted .500 (6-for-12) with six runs scored, nine RBIs, and four extra-base hits, including two home runs, a double, and a triple. He posted a remarkable 1.250 slugging percentage and a .500 on-base percentage, totaling 15 bases in just 14 plate appearances.

He opened the series with a statement performance in a 15-1 victory, blasting a home run and driving in four runs. In game two, Sanchez added two hits and three RBIs, including a double, to help secure a 9-6 win. He capped the weekend with a flawless 3-for-3 outing in a 7-1 triumph, launching another home run, legging out a triple, scoring three times, adding two RBIs, and swiping two bases to complete the sweep.

On the mound, Lucas delivered one of the most overpowering outings of the week. The right-hander tossed six no-hit innings in a 7-1 victory, allowing just two walks while striking out 11 batters. He did not surrender a run and kept the Firestorm lineup off balance from start to finish to earn the win.

For the week, Lucas posted a 0.00 ERA and a 0.33 WHIP while averaging 16.5 strikeouts per nine innings. He consistently attacked the zone, limited free passes, and generated swing-and-miss stuff that prevented any offensive momentum. His six hitless frames set the tone for the Pilots and helped secure the decisive series victory.

LSU Shreveport will now open Red River Athletic Conference play with its first conference series against Xavier University of Louisiana Gold Rush. The series begins February 20 at 7 p.m. at Pilot Field.
