SHREVEPORT, La. — The Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS) Pilots delivered a commanding performance on Saturday afternoon, defeating Huston-Tillotson University 94-74 in an impressive home-court showing.
The Pilots were led by Taj Anderson, who poured in 25 points to spearhead the offensive effort. Melvion Flanagan contributed 20 points, showcasing his ability to score in crucial moments. Trey Boston added 15 points, while Devonte Austin recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Tyler Washington also made a strong impact on the boards, pulling down nine rebounds.
LSUS displayed efficiency on all fronts, shooting 39.1% from the field, 37.5% from beyond the arc, and an impressive 77.8% from the free-throw line.
For Huston-Tillotson, Charles Hallman led with 16 points, while Jackson Byas grabbed eight rebounds. Jayce Wright dished out six assists, and Khuath Gatkuoth added defensive energy with two blocks. The Rams shot 41.4% from the field, 33.3% from three-point range, and 76.9% from the free-throw line but struggled to keep up with LSUS's relentless attack.
Next up, the Pilots travel to San Antonio, Texas, to face Our Lady of the Lake University on Thursday, Dec. 19. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
