Pilots Rally to Earn 2-2 Draw Against Southwestern Christian

SHREVEPORT, La. – LSU Shreveport men's soccer showed resilience on Saturday afternoon at The Swamp, battling back from a two-goal deficit to earn a 2-2 draw with Southwestern Christian University. The result moves the Pilots to 0-0-3 on the season.

Southwestern Christian (1-1-1) managed to find the net late in the first half and early in the second, but LSUS responded with composure and determination. Jaime Zani led the charge for the Pilots, scoring both goals in the comeback. His first came in the 63rd minute off an assist from Aksel Battal, before leveling the match in the 77th minute thanks to a setup from Jacob Botterill.

Pieri Mack handled goalkeeping duties for LSUS and came up with a key save to help preserve the result.

The Pilots finished with the stronger momentum and nearly found a winner in the closing minutes, keeping pressure on the Eagles' back line until the final whistle.

LSUS will return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 3, when they host Oklahoma Wesleyan University at The Swamp. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
