HAWKINS, Texas – No. 11 LSU Shreveport men's soccer put on a dominant display Thursday afternoon, defeating Jarvis Christian University 5-0 on the road to stay unbeaten in Red River Athletic Conference play. The Pilots move to 9-0-5 overall and 7-0 in the RRAC, while the Bulldogs fall to 2-10-1 and 1-6 in conference play.
Jack Thomas continued his stellar form with a four-goal performance, recording his second hat trick of the season and adding a fourth late in the second half. The senior midfielder connected early, striking just 4:39 into the match off a setup from Jaime Zani. Thomas and Zani proved unstoppable, linking up twice more before halftime as Thomas netted goals in the 20th and 28th minutes to give LSUS a commanding 3-0 lead.
The duo flipped roles in the 51st minute when Zani buried a pass from Thomas to make it 4-0. Thomas capped off the scoring in the 79th minute — his fourth goal of the afternoon and Zani's fourth assist — sealing a statement win for the Pilots.
With another shutout in conference play, LSUS continues to assert itself as one of the nation's top teams. The Pilots will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 18, when they travel to face Texas A&M-Texarkana. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
