SHREVEPORT, La. — No. 7 LSU Shreveport men's soccer returns to The Swamp on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, hosting Faulkner University in the NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship Second Round. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. as the Pilots look to secure their place among the final 16 teams in the nation.
LSUS (13-2-5) enters the national tournament following a double-overtime battle in the RRAC Men's Soccer Championship match, where the Pilots narrowly fell 1-0 to Xavier University of Louisiana. LSUS punched its national tournament ticket with an at-large bid. The team is also the Red River Athletic Conference Regular Season Champions and RRAC Tournament runners-up.
Offensively, the Pilots continue to be powered by one of the NAIA's most efficient tandems. Jack Thomas leads the team with 18 goals and 11 assists, while Jaime Zani adds 11 goals and 10 assists, keeping LSUS one of the most dangerous attacking sides in the field.
Defensively, the Pilots are anchored by goalkeeper Sondre Liahagen-Kolnes, who has allowed just 13 goals while collecting 29 saves this season. His consistency between the posts has been a key piece of LSUS's success throughout the campaign.
Faulkner (11-4-3) comes to Shreveport as an at-large selection after a strong season that included two victories over teams in the national tournament field. The Eagles reached the semifinals of the SSAC Men's Soccer Championship and are led by Angel Ugwumba with 13 goals and Konsti Witti with 10. Goalkeeper Andre Ferreira has given up only 11 goals while recording 39 saves.
The winner of Saturday's matchup will advance to the NAIA Men's Soccer Final Site in Orange Beach, Ala., joining the other 15 site winners for the championship rounds scheduled December 1–8.
LSU Shreveport looks to defend home turf in one of the biggest matches of the season. Pilots fans are encouraged to arrive early, pack The Swamp, and fuel the postseason atmosphere.
