Pilots Close Out Classic with 79–40 Setback to MACU
POINTE LOOKOUT, Mo. — LSU Shreveport women's basketball wrapped up its stay at the C of O Lady Cat Classic on Saturday afternoon, falling 79–40 to Mid-America Christian University. The Pilots move to 4–2 on the season while MACU improves to 5–1.
LSUS struggled to find offensive rhythm throughout the contest, finishing 23.1 percent from the field, 20 percent from three-point range, and 30.8 percent at the free-throw line. Despite the tough shooting afternoon, the Pilots saw steady contributions across the rotation.
Selma Markisic and Ally Fleenor paced the scoring effort with nine points each. Fleenor added four rebounds, two assists, and two steals in a well-rounded performance. Katie Ambrose chipped in eight points and three rebounds, while Amandine L'Etang anchored the interior with a game-high 10 rebounds and one block.
MACU's offense was driven by Taliah Lee, who finished with 21 points, nine rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Caitlyn Jordan added 16 points, nine rebounds, and two assists, while Mia Smith contributed 11 points, four rebounds, and three assists. Monique Carter tallied a team-high five assists for the Evangels, who shot 45.3 percent from the floor, 34.6 percent from the arc, and 85.7 percent at the stripe.
LSUS will return home for its next matchup, hosting Texas A&M–Texarkana on Thursday, Nov. 20 at The Dock. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
