Pilots Open RRAC Play with a Statement, Defeat TAMUT 70–62

SHREVEPORT, La. — LSU Shreveport women's basketball opened conference play with poise and purpose, securing a 70–62 win over Texas A&M University–Texarkana on Thursday night inside The Dock. The Pilots move to 5-2 overall and 1-0 in RRAC play, while TAMUT drops to 0-5 overall and 0-1 in conference action.

LSUS leaned on its backcourt star power early and often, and Toni Coleman delivered a commanding performance. The junior guard lit up the floor with 26 points, adding seven boards, one assist, and a steal in a high-efficiency outing that kept the Pilots steady.

Ally Fleenor powered the interior with 17 points, eight rebounds, and three assists, showing touch around the rim and composure on the glass. Selma Markisic added a strong two-way presence, finishing with 10 points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Amandine L'Etang anchored the defensive tone for LSUS, filling the stat sheet with six rebounds, four assists, and four steals, continually disrupting TAMUT's rhythm.

The Pilots shot a balanced 45.5% from the field, 35.3% from beyond the arc, and an efficient 77.4% at the stripe, knocking down key free throws late to hold off a persistent Eagles push.

TAMUT was paced by Breyionce George, who kept the Eagles within striking distance behind 23 points, five rebounds, and four steals. Eleionna Brown added 11 points, five rebounds, and two assists, while Imani Rothschild directed the offense with five assists. Chioma Treasure Emeh contributed five boards and five steals in the defensive effort. The Eagles shot 35.9% from the floor, 27.6% from deep, and 66.7% at the line.

The Pilots return to The Dock on Thursday, Dec. 4 at 5:30 p.m. to host Texas College.
