LSU Shreveport Holds Texas College to 35 Points in Conference Victory

SHREVEPORT, La. - LSU Shreveport women's basketball earned a 61-35 victory over Texas College Thursday night at The Dock, moving to 6-2 overall and 2-0 in Red River Athletic Conference play.

The Pilots controlled the game while holding Texas College to 18.8% shooting overall and 13% from beyond the arc. LSU Shreveport connected on 65% of their free throw attempts.

Sami Slusarek and Selma Markisic led the LSU Shreveport offense with 16 points each. Slusarek recorded a double-double with 10 rebounds and added four steals. Markisic finished with six steals and four assists. Toni Coleman contributed 10 points, five assists, five steals, and four rebounds. Ally Fleenor grabbed eight rebounds to go along with five assists, two steals, and one block.

Texas College (2-5, 1-1 RRAC) was led by Fae Green with 12 points and five rebounds. Carlysia Gibson added seven points and five rebounds, while Titerria Pyburn finished with six points and seven rebounds.

LSU Shreveport held advantages in assists (14-8), second-chance points (12-7), points in the paint (30-14), and fast-break points (14-4). 

The Pilots will host Jarvis Christian University on Saturday, December 6th at The Dock for the annual Toy Drive Game at 1:00 PM. Admission is free with a toy donation.
