Markisic Earns Third RRAC Offensive Player of the Week Honor
SHREVEPORT, La. — LSU Shreveport graduate student Selma Markisic has been named the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Offensive Player of the Week for the dates of January 5–11, following another standout performance in leading the Pilots to a perfect week.
Markisic powered LSUS offensively as the Pilots secured two conference victories to remain unbeaten in RRAC play. She averaged 20 points per game over the week, highlighted by a 27-point performance in a 79-64 win over North American University (Texas). She followed that effort with 13 points in a 65-55 victory over Xavier University of Louisiana.
In addition to her scoring output, Markisic filled the stat sheet with 11 rebounds, seven assists, and six steals across the two games.
For the season, Markisic sits atop the RRAC in total points (289) and scoring average (18.5 ppg.). She has knocked down 50 three-pointers and 96 field goals, continuing to serve as one of the conference's most dynamic offensive threats.
This marks the third time this season Markisic has earned RRAC Offensive Player of the Week honors.
As a team, LSU Shreveport remains perfect in conference play at 10-0 and holds a 14-2 overall record. The Pilots also received two votes in the latest NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll.
