LSU Shreveport Women’s Basketball Continues to Receive Votes in NAIA Top 25 Poll
SHREVEPORT, La. –The LSU Shreveport women's basketball team continues to gain ground nationally, earning 50 points in the NAIA Women's Basketball Coaches Top 25 Poll released on Feb. 11.
The Pilots have steadily climbed in the rankings throughout the 2025–26 season. LSUS opened the year ranked No. 25 in the Preseason Coaches Top 25 Poll on Oct. 22 before moving into the receiving votes category in November. In the previous poll, the Pilots earned 17 points and have now increased that total to 50 points in the latest release, reflecting continued momentum on the national stage.
LSUS improved to 22-2 overall and a perfect 18-0 in Red River Athletic Conference play following a 49-38 road victory over Texas College on Tuesday night. With just a handful of conference games remaining, the Pilots are in position to claim the RRAC Regular Season Championship as they continue their unbeaten run through league play.
Graduate student Selma Markisic ranks No. 25 in the NAIA in scoring at 19.1 points per game, while newcomer Toni Coleman leads the nation with 115 steals this season.
LSU Shreveport will return to action on Thursday as the Pilots celebrate Homecoming 2026 at The Dock, hosting North American University. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
