Five Pilots Earn RRAC All-Conference Honors
SHREVEPORT, La. — LSU Shreveport women's basketball continued its dominant 2025-26 campaign as five Pilots were recognized on the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) All-Conference Teams, highlighted by First Team selections for Selma Markisic and Toni Coleman.
A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Selma Markisic has been the offensive engine for the Pilots all season long, leading the team in scoring and setting the tone on both ends of the floor. She is averaging 17.9 points per game while adding 3.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and an impressive 3.0 steals per contest.
Markisic's impact on the conference was undeniable, earning RRAC Player of the Week honors five times throughout the season — a testament to her consistency and dominance against league competition. Her signature performance came on Jan. 15 against Our Lady of the Lake University, when she poured in 28 points in a commanding effort. In that game, Markisic shot 68 percent from the field, 50 percent from beyond the arc, and 66.7 percent from the free-throw line, showcasing her efficiency and ability to score at all three levels.
Junior guard Toni Coleman added to the Pilots' postseason accolades with a historic debut season. The transfer from South Medford, Ore., was named RRAC Newcomer of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year while also earning First Team All-Conference honors. Coleman anchored the Pilots' defense from day one, leading the nation in steals throughout the season. She currently boasts 135 steals, breaking the LSUS single-season record of 86 — a mark that now sets the standard in program history.
Coleman's relentless defensive presence fueled LSU Shreveport's success on both ends of the floor. In addition to her nation-leading steals total, she averaged 12.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 4.7 steals per game, establishing herself as one of the most dynamic two-way players in the conference. Her impact was consistently recognized, as she earned six RRAC Player of the Week honors this season.
Ally Fleenor and Paula Gonzalez Herrero were both named to the RRAC Second Team after standout campaigns. Fleenor averaged 10.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game, providing steady production in the paint and on the glass. Gonzalez Herrero added 12.1 points and 3.4 rebounds per contest, delivering consistent scoring for the Pilots throughout conference play.
Amandine L'Etang earned an Honorable Mention selection following a record-breaking season in the post. She ranks No. 3 in the country in total blocks with 73 and broke the LSUS single-season blocks record, anchoring the Pilots' interior defense.
Katie Ambrose was named to the RRAC Champions of Character Team, recognizing her commitment to the NAIA's core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership both on and off the court.
LSU Shreveport will face Xavier University of Louisiana in the semifinal round on Saturday, Feb. 28, with tip-off scheduled for 3 p.m. at Laborde Earles Coliseum.
