Pilots Roll Past Paul Quinn, 5-0, on the Road

DALLAS, Texas – LSU Shreveport women's soccer found its rhythm early and never looked back, powering past Paul Quinn College, 5-0, on Monday afternoon. The dominant road win improves the Pilots' momentum heading into their next home matchup.

Ashley Moore got LSUS on the board just four minutes into play, setting the tone with a composed finish. Halee Hernandez doubled the lead in the 35th minute, sending the Pilots into halftime firmly in control.

The second half saw the attack widen as Lauren Mercer connected in the 60th minute off an assist from Jade Derks. Lina Regadane (65') and Mada Uriarte (82'), the latter assisted by Hernandez, added to the offensive showcase, sealing the 5-0 victory.

In goal, Elena Lopez collected four saves in 76 minutes of action before handing things off to Darilyn Gaffney, who closed out the shutout. Paul Quinn's Fernanda Rosas turned in a busy outing with five saves across the full 90 minutes.

The Pilots outshot the Tigers 16-9, creating chances consistently while limiting Paul Quinn's opportunities in the attacking third.

LSUS returns home to The Swamp on Saturday, Sept. 6, hosting Mid-American Christian University at 1 p.m.
