Moore’s Late Heroics Lift LSUS to 4-3 Win, Back-to-Back RRAC Regular Season Titles

PINEVILLE, La. — LSU Shreveport women's soccer closed out the regular season in thrilling fashion, edging Louisiana Christian University 4-3 on the road Saturday afternoon to capture back-to-back Red River Athletic Conference regular season titles. The Pilots end the regular season 11-6 overall and 10-1 in RRAC play.

Ashley Moore delivered the decisive strike late in the 84th minute — her second goal of the match — to break a 3-3 tie and lift the Pilots to victory. Moore opened the scoring early at the 7:32 mark off an assist from Martina Bonilla before Halee Hernandez doubled the advantage just three minutes later on a feed from Jade Derks.

Louisiana Christian responded in the 18th minute through Giselle Laing, but LSUS reclaimed a two-goal cushion when Derks converted unassisted in the 24th minute for her 13th of the season.

LCU battled back in the second half with Laing's second goal in the 52nd minute and Ana Guedes' equalizer in the 77th, setting up Moore's game-winner off a cross from Derks at 83:55.

Between the posts, Elena Lopez went the full 90 minutes for LSUS, making three saves while allowing three goals. LCU's Marta Papandrea also played the full match, recording eight saves against four goals.

With the victory, the Pilots clinch their second consecutive RRAC regular season crown and carry momentum into postseason play.
