Pilots Season Concludes in Semi’s; Lescher Named Newcomer of the Year

New Orleans, LA - After a successful season, the Pilots run ends in the Red River Athletic semifinals with a loss to rival LSUA. The Women's Tennis team started their conference tournament journey with a win over Lewis-Clark State College who is a member of the RRAC in Women's Tennis. LSUS would then face off for the second time in as many weeks against LSUA with a chance to go to the championship. The Pilots would drop that match 4-0. 

The conference selections were also announced at the RRAC Tournament this past week. Freshman Pierina Lescher was named the conference Newcomer of the Year as well as a second team selection. Lescher had a stellar year for the Pilots while also picking up Newcomer of the Year at the Pilot Choice Awards. She will anchor a strong returning group as LSUS looks toward the 2024-25 season. 

The lone senior Camera Perez was named to the Champions of Character Team. She has continued to represent the program well and also picked up hardware at the Pilot Choice Awards for the F.A.R. Character Award. She will be missed with her graduation this year.
