Bio

Akeem Williams was named head coach of the LSU Shreveport women’s tennis program, bringing nearly two decades of teaching and coaching experience to his hometown university. A native of Shreveport, La., Williams attended LSU Shreveport, where he studied biology, before pursuing a professional career in tennis instruction.

Williams is USPTA certified and has been teaching tennis for 19 years, working with players of all ages and skill levels. His extensive background as an instructor has allowed him to develop a coaching style centered on technical growth, mental toughness, and a strong work ethic.

As head coach, Williams is focused on elevating the LSUS women’s tennis program through player development, competitive excellence, and a culture of teamwork and discipline. His return to campus reflects his strong connection to the Shreveport community and his commitment to representing LSUS with pride both on and off the court.
