Four Pilots Earn RRAC Golden Glove Honors
SHREVEPORT, La. -- LSU Shreveport placed four players among the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Golden Glove honorees, as Quaterrion Walton (SS), Carlos Sanchez (OF), Dorien Jackson (OF), and Brock Lucas (P) were each recognized for their defensive excellence during the 2026 season.
Walton anchored the infield at shortstop with consistency and range while also producing at the plate, hitting .372 with 55 hits, 35 RBIs, and 35 stolen bases. In the outfield, Sanchez and Jackson provided stability and playmaking ability for the Pilots. Sanchez, the RRAC Player of the Year, paired his defensive efforts with an outstanding offensive season, batting .388 with 76 hits, 75 RBIs, and 35 stolen bases, ranking third nationally in RBIs and tied for 14th in stolen bases. Jackson added a strong all-around campaign, hitting .342 with 41 hits, 32 RBIs, and 21 stolen bases while covering ground in the outfield.
On the mound, Lucas added a Golden Glove honor to his RRAC Co-Pitcher of the Year recognition, further highlighting his all-around impact. In addition to his defensive presence, Lucas posted a 9-2 record with a 1.93 ERA and 102 strikeouts over 79.1 innings, consistently controlling games for the Pilots.
The quartet's recognition underscores LSU Shreveport's ability to excel on both sides of the ball. The Pilots enter postseason play with a 38-12 overall record and a 20-7 mark in conference action while outscoring opponents 504-197 on the season.
LSUS will open the second round of the RRAC Baseball Championship Tournament on Saturday, May 2 against Texas A&M–Texarkana, with first pitch set for 5 p.m. as the Pilots continue their pursuit of a conference championship.
