No. 13 Pilots Blank No. 17 MACU in Season-Opening Draw

SHREVEPORT, La. – No. 13 LSU Shreveport men's soccer opened its 2025 campaign with a commanding performance on Thursday afternoon, battling No. 17 Mid-American Christian to a 0-0 draw at The Swamp. With the result, the Pilots move to 0-0-1 on the season.

The Pilots controlled much of the contest, firing five shots on goal and applying steady pressure on the Evangels' defense. Joseph Lewis, Caleb Marchany, Jacob Doehman, Marcos De Elias, and Aksel Battle each placed attempts on target, but MACU goalkeeper Alvaro Morera collected five saves to keep LSUS off the board.

On the defensive side, the Pilots were dominant. Goalkeeper Sondre Liahagen-Kolnes posted a clean sheet with one save, while the back line shut down the Evangels' attack, limiting them to just a single shot on goal.

The scoreless draw underscores the Pilots' ability to dictate the pace against top-tier competition and sets the tone for the 2025 season.

LSUS will return to action on Tuesday, Aug. 26, when the Pilots travel to Hattiesburg, Miss., to face William Carey at 7:30 p.m.
