No. 15 Pilots Earn Home Draw Against No. 4 Oklahoma Wesleyan

SHREVEPORT, La. – The No. 15 LSU Shreveport men's soccer team delivered another statement performance on Wednesday afternoon at The Swamp, battling to a 1-1 draw with visiting No. 4 Oklahoma Wesleyan University. The Pilots move to 0-0-4 on the season, while the Eagles shift to 1-0-2.

The matchup marked LSUS's third straight contest against a top-15 opponent, and the Pilots once again showed they could rise to the challenge.

Oklahoma Wesleyan struck just three minutes into the match when Biel Campo finished off a quick buildup assisted by Julian Tovar and Tylor Guerrero. Despite the early blow, LSUS responded with composure, steadily building momentum and pressuring the Eagle backline throughout the match.

The breakthrough finally came in the 85th minute as Marcos De Elias buried the equalizer, finishing a feed from Jack Thomas to secure the result for the Pilots.

Goalkeeper Sondre Liahagen-Kolnes anchored the LSUS defense, playing all 90 minutes and making three saves. On the opposite end, OKWU keeper Marko Rodic was kept busy by the Pilots' attack, recording seven saves in a full match effort.

LSUS will look to carry its strong form into the weekend when the Pilots travel to Walnut Ridge, Ark., to face Williams Baptist University on Saturday, Sept. 6, with kickoff set for 2 p.m.
