SHREVEPORT, La. – The No. 14 LSU Shreveport men's soccer team returns home Thursday, Sept. 25, to host Texas A&M-Victoria in its Red River Athletic Conference opener at 3:30 p.m. inside The Swamp.
The Pilots (2-0-5) enter the matchup unbeaten on the year after a 2-0 road victory over John Brown University (Ark.) in their most recent outing. Jaime Zani has paced the LSUS attack so far, leading the team with five goals, while captain Jack Thomas has been the primary playmaker with four assists. Between the posts, Sondre Liahagen-Kolnes has anchored the defense with two shutouts and nine saves.
Texas A&M-Victoria (4-3) comes into the contest looking to bounce back from a 4-1 setback against St. Thomas (Texas). The Jaguars are led offensively by Jervan Matthew, who has tallied four goals, and Baillie O'Reilly, who has dished out a team-high five assists. Goalkeeper Tyler Kaeppeli has been a steady presence in net, recording three wins, one shutout, and 16 saves this season.
