SHREVEPORT, La. — LSU Shreveport women's soccer delivered an offensive showcase on Saturday afternoon in The Swamp, rolling past Texas College 12-1 to remain unbeaten in Red River Athletic Conference play.
The Pilots (5-5, 4-0 RRAC) exploded for eight first-half goals and added four more after the break, extending their conference winning streak behind another stellar day from the attacking trio of Jade Derks, Ashley Moore, and Mada Uriarte.
Derks opened the scoring just three minutes into the match, converting a pass from Moore. She doubled the lead a minute later before Moore found the net herself in the sixth minute. Derks completed her first-half hat trick at the 6:54 mark, assisted by Ashlin Fuentes, pushing LSUS to a commanding early lead.
Moore struck again in the 14th minute from Laura Kucharz, followed by Mada Uriarte's goal in the 22nd minute off Diana Leon's assist. Leon then added one of her own in the 29th minute to make it 7-0.
Texas College (0-4, 0-4 RRAC) got on the board in the 32nd minute when Fatimaezzahra Akif capitalized on a free kick after LSUS switched goalkeepers from Elena Lopez to Darilyn Gaffney.
The Pilots quickly regained control as Alia Sanchez (35', from Uriarte) and Aida Monteserin (37', from Maja Nikolic) added two more before halftime. Uriarte and Moore continued the scoring surge in the second half with goals in the 40th, 47th, and 77th minutes, respectively.
In goal, LSUS rotated three keepers — Lopez started and played 30 minutes, Gaffney allowed one goal in 30 minutes, and Celina Oliveira closed the match without facing a shot. Texas College's Danyelle Fino went the full 90 minutes, recording six saves against the high-powered Pilot offense.
The Pilots return to action on Thursday, Oct. 9, when they host Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas) in The Swamp. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
