ALEXANDRIA, La. — LSU Shreveport women's soccer extended its undefeated conference streak with a 5-3 comeback victory over LSU Alexandria on Thursday afternoon in The Swamp.

The Pilots (10-5, 9-0 RRAC) overcame a 2-0 deficit after the Generals struck early with a pair of goals from Alexia Bermejo Jo in the 5th and 20th minutes.

LSUS found its rhythm in the 33rd minute when Jade Derks fired an unassisted goal to cut the deficit to 2-1 heading into halftime. From there, the Pilots took control.

Just five minutes into the second half, Halee Hernandez netted the equalizer off an assist from Alex Kelly, setting off a surge of Pilot offense. Ashley Moore put LSUS ahead in the 59th minute with an unassisted strike, followed by another goal from Hernandez in the 69th minute — her second of the match — assisted by Derks. Diana Leon capped the scoring for LSUS in the 75th minute to make it 5-2.

LSUA's Jacqui Guillermo added a late goal in the 82nd minute, but it wasn't enough to slow down the Pilots' momentum.

LSUS goalkeeper Elena Lopez went the full 90 minutes, allowing three goals while making two saves. LSUA's Yahira Herraez also played the full match, allowing five goals with one save.

The Pilots will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 25, when they host Xavier University (La.) at The Swamp. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
